Guitar Hero & Runescape Club this Saturday!

Don't forget, this Saturday we are going to be playing Guitar Hero the PS2 starting @ 3:00 pm and then at 5:00 we will be moving into the library for the 2nd of our bimonthly Runescape Clubs!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There will be lots of cool stuff to do this month at the library as we start off 2008!

Beginning on Saturday, January 5th we will be starting our 1st annual Winter Reading Club! Every time you read a book, stop by the Reference & Young Adult Desk and fill out an evaluation card. You will then receive a raffle that that you can use to win prizes!

Also on January 5th, at 3:00 pm we will be having an informal meeting for fans of the Magic The Gathering Card Game to discuss ideas for future programs, and even play a couple of games! Then @ 5:00 pm we will have the first of our twice monthly Runescape Club in the Library!




Other Programs in January include a Poetry Coffee House on Friday, January 18th @ 7:00 pm. Share your favorite poems and songs, or just hang out & relax with friends while enjoying a fresh cup of java.


Saturday, January 19th @ 3:00 pm, we will have a Guitar Hero program. Will you be our latest Guitar Hero? Afterwards, we will have our second monthly Runescape Club @ 5:00 pm in the library!




And don't forget that the Anime / Manga Club will still be meeting every Tuesday night @ 6:00 pm!

All Guitar Hero Fans take notice…

On Saturday, November 3rd we will be having a day of Guitar Hero!!!

Joe Freyre of Eastport Music Scene will be at the library to teach everyone how to the skills needed to be a legendary Guitar Hero! Program will begin @ 10:00 AM. Make sure to bring a pad & pencil to take notes.

Then you can try your new skills on the library’s very our own Guitar Hero game for the Xbox 360 beginning @ 3:00 PM!

This Week is Teen Read Week!!!

This week we are celebrating reading "For The Fun Of It!" It's a week long celebration / campaign to remind everyone that reading does't have to be a chore... You can read for fun! AND read what you like & want! So here at the library we are going to be taking surveys of your favorite books.
At the end of the week, I will be making a "catalog" of your favorite books, and posting them on Library Thing. library Thing is an online book Catalog that you create! Once we have this catalog started, I will continually keep updating it with book titles YOU CHOOSE!
And... When you come to the library all this week, make sure to see me (Librarian Dave Jones) for a free gift!

It was brought to my attention that I would find this video on YouTube. It’s the Westhampton Beach Chorus singing Tay Zonday’s “Chocolate Rain” with the Library’s own Dominic Pesce playing the piano!
